1. What should not be missing in Gourmet?

There are several things that should not be missing in a gourmet session. Depending on the personal preferences of all the guests attending, there are a few dishes that are essential for gourmet:

Meat and/or fish: Gourmet usually revolves around preparing small pieces of meat and fish on a grill plate or in small pans over a flame. Provide an assortment of different types of meat and fish, such as steak, chicken, pork, shrimp, and salmon.

Vegetables: To make gourmet healthier, various types of vegetables can be served, such as mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, onion, eggplant, and corn.

Sauces: Various sauces are indispensable for gourmet. These include garlic sauce, barbecue sauce, peanut sauce, and cocktail sauce.

Bread: When gourmetting, it's nice to serve some freshly baked bread, herb butter, or aioli.

Salads: To freshen up the gourmet experience, a salad can also be served. A simple green salad or a potato salad are always delicious choices.

Drinks: When gourmetting, it's nice to enjoy a good glass of wine or beer. Make sure there's also plenty of soft drinks or water available.

During gourmetting, people can eat various types of dishes, depending on their personal preferences. Generally, a variety of small pieces of meat, fish, vegetables, and sauces are prepared and eaten on a grill plate. Here are some examples of what people can eat when gourmetting:

Meat: Steak, chicken fillet, pork tenderloin, meatballs, lamb chops, turkey strips, and mini hamburgers.

Fish: Salmon, shrimp, prawns, mussels, scallops, tuna, and cod.

Vegetables: Mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, onion, tomato, corn, eggplant, carrot, and broccoli.

Sauces and dips: Garlic sauce, barbecue sauce, cocktail sauce, satay sauce, tzatziki, mayonnaise, and ketchup.

Bread and side dishes: Baguette, herb butter, aioli, salads, potato slices, fried potatoes, and rice.

Desserts: Chocolate mousse, tiramisu, ice cream, and fruit.

The fun part about gourmetting is that you can choose what you eat and how much you eat. It's also fun to try different flavors and types of food and share them with each other.

3. How do you prevent splattering when gourmetting?

It's difficult to completely prevent splattering during gourmetting because cooking food on a hot grill plate or in gourmet pans always involves a bit of splattering and sizzling. But there are a few things you can do to minimize splattering during gourmetting:

  • Make sure the plate is at the right temperature before you start cooking. If the plate is too hot, the food may splatter, and if the plate is not hot enough, the food may stick and still splatter. Turn on the plate before you start preparing the food so that the plate reaches the right temperature when you're ready to start cooking.
  • Pat the food dry before placing it on the plate. Moist food, such as vegetables or frozen meat, can splatter when placed on the hot plate. Therefore, gently pat the food dry before placing it on the plate.
  • Cut the food into smaller pieces. The larger the piece of food, the greater the chance of splattering. Cut the food into smaller pieces before placing it on the plate so that it cooks evenly and splatters less.
  • Use a splatter guard. A splatter guard is a handy accessory for preventing splattering. It's a metal lid that you can place over the plate, preventing the food from splattering. This also keeps the plate cleaner.
  • Use oil sparingly. Excessive use of oil can contribute to splattering. Therefore, use only a little oil to cook the food.
  • Place the food on the plate carefully. Place the food on the plate carefully to prevent splattering. For example, use tongs to pick up the food and place it on the plate. Let the food slide onto the plate slowly and gently.

By following these tips, you can reduce the risk of splattering during gourmetting.

4. Why put salt on the Gourmet plate?

Adding salt to the gourmet plate can have several benefits:

Taste: Salt adds flavor to the food being prepared on the plate. By sprinkling a little salt on the plate before you start cooking, the food can have more flavor and be more seasoned.

Protection of the plate: A little salt can help protect the plate from burning. The salt absorbs the fat and moisture coming from the food, making it less likely for the plate to burn.

Hygiene: Salt can help keep the plate clean and kill bacteria. The salt acts as a natural cleanser and can help kill any bacteria on the plate.

It's important to note that you shouldn't sprinkle too much salt on the plate, as it can make the food too salty. A small pinch of salt is usually enough to provide the desired flavor and protection.
